and Announcing . . .
From the very beginning of BlokeFest the Cabaret has been an undoubted highlight with a tremendous range of talent (some of it actually quite good!) and huge variety of material - possibly a little too much at times with people bubbling over with spontaneous enthusiasm and "have-a-go" spirit.
Basically a bloke or blokes get up from the audience and entertain them in whatever way they can mainly singing or reciting stuff (it's not Britain's got talent... no card tricks or acrobats so far!).
You never know who or what is going to turn up, which has been great but can mean the show has gone a for a bit and also introducing acts has been haphazard at best, so this year we would like to try another experiment and have some pre-registration.
This is mainly to give US (the so-called "organizers") some more info about YOU (the so-called "cabaret artistes") so we can provide a bit more continuity and possible structure the show a little better as well as the Master of Ceremonies having a little bit more interesting to introduce you.
Also, because of the number of people who want to have a go we plan to enforce a much stricter "one piece at a time" approach to rotate the performers a bit more. (Don't forget there is always the pub for a singsong a bit later on).
And just to say, signing up won't guarantee you make it onto the list of actual performers, but let's face it, if you've gone to all the trouble of reading through this waffle and completing you are pretty determined types and we would be rude not to let you through...
